Bluewater Productions to Turn John Saul Novels into Comic Books

BLUEWATER PRODUCTIONS TEAMS UP WITH TOP HORROR NOVELIST JOHN SAUL

Horror writer John Saul has written more than 36 novels since penning Suffer the Children in 1977. Most of these have been fixtures on the New York Times Best Seller List. Some have been turned into films and games.

But none of Saul's horror tales have yet been transformed into comic books. This will change, though, as Saul and Bluewater Productions team up to bring two of his horror tales to the world of sequential storytelling.

Bluewater and Saul recently signed a deal to turn both The God Project and The Blackstone Chronicles into comics. Bluewater, of course, has already made a name for itself in the horror genre. The publisher is home to the critically praised Vincent Price Presents horror anthology.

Saul said that he is looking forward to experiencing yet another first in his career.

“I've often thought many of my novels would translate well into graphic storytelling,” Saul said. “I also have original projects that have been conceived specifically as graphic serial novels. I am thrilled to be exploring all of these ventures with Bluewater.”

Both The Blackstone Chronicles and The God Project are favorites among Saul's fans. The God Project focuses on a curse in the town of Eastbury, Mass. Something is taking the town's youngest children, one by one. The Blackstone Chronicles focuses on a curse of a different sort: A vacant insane asylum is scheduled to be torn down and replaced with an upscale shopping mall. But the asylum won't fall so easily.

Darren Davis, president and founder of Bluewater Productions, said that he is excited to work with a writer of Saul's skills. Davis, too, is a fan of Saul's work, and has given himself more than a few sleepless nights after reading the writer's prose.

“Working with John Saul, one of my favorite writers, is a dream come true,” Davis said. “My hope is that we can introduce John's work to a whole new crop of readers. I'd like to make others sleep with the lights on!”

The God Project will be written by David McIntee - who has written authorized franchise novels for “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, “Dr Who” & “Space 1999”. The The Blackstone Chronicles will be handled by Tara Ooten & Nathan Ooten.

Bluewater Productions publishes a wide variety of comic books and graphic novels. There 1st venture with a famed novelist S.E. Hinton will be out in 3 weeks. The company has received much press attention for its series of biography comics, which have told the stories behind such luminaries and celebrities as Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama, Colin Powell, Lady Gaga and Rush Limbaugh. The company, though, also publishes superhero, young-adult, horror and science-fiction comics.

Bluewater Announces More Comics to Radio

COLONIAL RADIO THEATRE EXPANDS THE BLUEWATER RADIO PROGRAM LINE-UP WITH “WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS” & QUARTERMAIN”

Months ago Bluewater announced that both Logan's Run and Vincent Price Presents are becoming radio shows! Colonial Radio Theater on the Air announced today that they have entered into an agreement with the comic book publishers Bluewater Productions to also produce "War of the Elementals" & “Quatermain”.

Explained producer Jerry Robbins: ""I am very excited to get the chance to record this amazing graphic novel as a radio drama. We had a hit with our production of the original KING SOLOMON'S MINES in 2008, and this story is every bit as exciting and adventurous. I can't wait to get it into production!"

As for WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS Robbins continued, "The cover art alone on this story grabbed me! How great a concept is this!? The Royal Flying Corps' 5th Squadron is fighting in WWI when they are suddenly transported to a world dominated by giant flying bat-creatures! This is the stuff that makes for fantastic radio theater! We get letters and emails from kids who are just discovering our shows and they rave about how much fun they are, and how much they enjoy them. Radio drama has been around for many, many years - and it is great when kids are discovering it for the first time. They are forced to use their imagination. No movie can ever capture the world that you create in the theater of your own mind - we supply the sound to your minds picture, and the combination is unbeatable. I think WAR OF THE ELEMENTALS is one of those stories that is going to be incredible as a radio adventure! "

Both are based off the comic book series from Bluewater Productions. War of the Elementals was written by Scott Davis and Quatermain the graphic novel is out in the Fall and written by Clay and Susan Griffith. To pre-order it go to Amazon: http://amzn.to/cREdOu
Celebrating it's 15th year, the award winning Colonial Radio Theatre on the Air's goal is to resurrect an old medium - making it modern and relevant - in a new and unique way for people to enjoy. With people's busy schedules keeping them on the road and limiting their time to read, "This is the future," said Vander Berg, "audio drama is the next wave."

Bluewater Does Mark Zuckerberg Bio Comic

“MARK ZUCKERBERG: CREATOR OF FACEBOOK” A DIFFERENT KIND OF COMIC BOOK BIOGRAPHY FROM BLUEWATER

In December, Bluewater Productions is publishing a biographical comic book called "Mark Zuckerberg: Creator of Facebook", a 48 page giant sized issue priced at $6.99. Written by Jerome Maida and penciled by Sal Field, with cover art by Michal Szyksznian, it will be available from comic book stores and online retailers.

Who is the real Mark Zuckerberg? The answer, of course, is somewhere in between and Bluewater Productions is announcing it is filling that gap and exploring the background of the website's founder in the medium of comic books.

The young billionaire and creator and CEO of Facebook who announced recently that he is generously donating $100 million to public schools in Newark? Or the cold-blooded businessman who walks over people to get what he wants - the way he is portrayed in the critically acclaimed movie "The Social Network".

"This is a fascinating story" says Maida. "I enjoyed researching it because it's extremely compelling. Think about it. Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire on the planet and created something that has already had a profound impact on the world. Yet hardly anyone knows much about him. It's amazing."

The road to success, Maida says, was not preordained nor was it always a smooth ride.

"Mark was offered loads of money at a young age and turned all his suitors down because deep down he knew he had higher goals than to work for someone else", says Maida. "Bill Gates offered Mark a million dollars while Mark was still in high school to work for him and Mark turned it down. I mean, how many high school kids will ever be made an offer like that? Very few. And how many would have the confidence to turn it down and pursue their own path? Very few, if any. But that's what Mark did."

Of course, Mark wasn't able to do everything on his own. He received help to various degrees and in different capacities from others. Many of these business relationships did not end well.

"Rightly or wrongly, Mark dealt harshly with some people on his way to where he is today", says Maida. " As we see, he left many people feeling betrayed. I try my best to be fair here. No one is totally innocent in this story. I try to represent each of the major players' point of view."

“Bluewater is looking to tell unique stories that are just not about celebrities”. Said publisher Darren G. Davis “The 1st biography one shot we are doing is about Father Yod and The Source Family and Mark Zukerberg will follow the next month. These books are not only good reading to get to know the subjects but are also being used as a tool in schools and libraries. ”

"Mark Zuckerberg: Creator of Facebook" will hit shelves in December but will be available to order at bookstores, comic stores or online at www.tfaw.com.

Kristen Stewart Sells Out

"FAME: KRISTEN STEWART" BIOGRAPHY COMIC BOOK ALSO SELLS OUT IN ONE DAY

After yesterday¹s announcement of Bluewater Productions’ biography comic book on pop diva Lady Gaga selling out one day after its release, Fame: Kristen Stewart does the same even with an aggressive overprinting of the title.

As for a new printing, next month comes a giant sized flipbook with FAME: Kristen Stewart and FAME: Robert Pattinson. Both books will be printed in a 48-page comic book and have new material not seen before. The book can be ordered at comic book stores and Amazon by using the ISBN code 978-1-4507-0884-5.

Writer Kim Sherman, who has also penned Bluewaters' Robert Pattinson entry in the series, said that Stewart's versatility and talent might surprise readers who only know her as Bella.

"For Twilight fans, Kristen Stewart is a woman whom fans long to be and love to hate," Sherman said. "But Kristen has been in the public eye for years, and her career as a serious actor spans dozens of films over a 10-year period of time. My goal with this biography was to show readers the depth residing in this young woman and the roles she's beautifully tackled through a series of spot shots, pinups and word art."

Sherman added that the art on this book, provided by renowned DC/Wildstorm artist Warren Martineck, perfectly brings Stewart's story to life.

According to the distributor the Fame Taylor Swift should be sold out by the end of the week.

Fame offers a broad examination of strong and influential personalities who are influencing culture. In a review of the Gaga comic, the New York Times commented. "If you¹re going to start a line of biographical comic books devoted to "culturally relevant celebrities and pop-culture icons," Lady Gaga is probably a good choice to inaugurate the series."

Also next months are comic book biographies of Taylor Lautner, Justin Bieber and David Beckham. All of them are available for pre-order.

Female Force: Anne Rice Out Now

VAMPIRE CHRONICLER ANNE RICE BIOGRAPHY COMIC NOW AVAILABLE

Anne Rice, whose literary vampire novels injected undead life to the genre and spawned a legion of imitators, is now, herself, the protagonist of a comic book biography by Bluewater Productions out this week. Female Force: Anne Rice, currently available at comic book shops and various online outlets, follows the popular novelist from her formative years in her beloved New Orleans through the tragedies that influenced the creation of her most popular novels and her fervent rediscovery of Catholicism.

“Intensely compelling and beautifully drawn, the Anne Rice biography shares the heart-wrenching pain and raw beauty of one of the world’s most compelling authors. This is a keeper!” said reviewer Anne Elizabeth, Columnist on Comics, Manga, and Graphic Novels for RT BOOK Reviews Magazine.

Rice has recently been in the news publicly distancing herself from the Catholic Church. Although the issue does not cover this recent event, it does encapsulate her entire career up to that point.

“Anne Rice's uniquely gothic, sensuous, and existential approach redefined the modern vampire mythology,” said issue author Scott Davis. “She advanced the vampire literary genre more than anyone since Bram Stoker.”

The Rice issue, penciled and inked by Louie deMartinis (cover art provided by Juanmar Studios and Vincent Deporter), is the fourth in Bluewater’s Female Force series highlighting authors of supernatural fiction.

“What I think fans will enjoy is the format of Rice being interviewed by a vampire as a nod to her seminal novel Interview with a Vampire,” said Davis. “This allows the Rice to provide added insight to her own story. Accordingly the vampire narrator adds his own spin as well.”

Female Force offers a broad examination of strong and influential women who are shaping modern history
and culture.

The monthly comic book series, launched earlier this year, has drawn considerable media attention, including features on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, and Live with Regis and Kelly. It has also been featured in such periodicals as People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, USA Today and thousands of blogs and other media outlets.

The suggested retail price (SRP) for the upcoming trade paperback is $3.99 for the 22-page title.

Lady Gaga Comic Sells Out

"FAME: LADY GAGA" BIO COMIC BOOK SELLS OUT IN ONE DAY, 3rd PRINTING AS WELL AS A SEQUEL IN THE WORKS

Bluewater Productions’ biography comic book on pop diva Lady Gaga has sold out one day after its release. A third printing, with a new cover is already in production.

“A lot of our biography comic books have sold out, despite many shops still under-ordering. Readers have contacted us still trying to find our books,” said BWP Managing Editor Darren G. Davis. “It just goes to show that you don’t have to be mainstream to reach the market. Readers just want great stories with great art, and if you can deliver that to them, they’ll come back for more every month.”

Davis also said, “Not only has the Lady Gaga issue sold out, but "Fame: Taylor Swift" & “Fame: Kristen Stewart” is selling briskly too. “This is even after overprinting the book.”

The issue written by Dan Rafter and penciled by Kristoffer Smith, has received attention through its unique approach to the top-selling artist¹s biography

“Lady Gaga is a different sort of celebrity. So when writing a biography of her, I didn't want to resort to putting out a straight celebrity biography," said writer Dan Rafter. "Instead, I wanted to take a look at how Lady Gaga's fame could impact even the most unlikeliest of individuals. So just as she tries to be different, I too had to try something a little different with Gaga."

To those fans desiring a more traditional telling of Lady Gaga¹s biography, a sequel of sorts is scheduled for November.

The third printing of Fame: Lady Gaga will be available in about three weeks. The FAME upcoming issues include Taylor Lautner and David Beckham.

Bluewater Productions to Publish Comic Book on Father Yod

“FATHER YOD & THE SOURCE FAMILY” A NEW KIND OF COMIC BIOGRAPHY FROM BLUEWATER

Isis Aquarian lived the Age of Aquarius to the hilt: She, along with Father Yod and the Source family, took sex, drugs and rock and roll and added one missing ingredient: spirit.

This October, Bluewater Productions will debut its latest nonfiction comic book, The Source, detailing the lives and times led by the spiritual followers of YaHoWa!, one of the best known communes of the 1970s. Isis Aquarian, who co-write the comic along with writer Ryan Burton, was one of 14 wives of Father Yod, the spiritual leader of the Brotherhood of the Source. She also served, as she says, as temple keeper, high priestess and family archivist.

Today, Isis' goal is to share the story of the Brotherhood of the Source, which also ran the first vegetarian restaurant in the country, Source on the Sunset Strip, with a new generation of readers. The Bluewater Comic is just one part of this plan.

“We were beautiful, wealthy, kind people who ran one of the most famous restaurants on Sunset Strip,” Isis said. “We had long hair. We wore robes. We were not hippies or yogi, even though most of us had come into the family that way. We evolved to a mystery school. We took sex, drugs rock-and-roll and added spirit to it.”

Artist Faricio Bohrer handled the layouts and penciling duties on the comic. His challenge was to match his art with the non-linear nature of the comic's storytelling.

Writer Burton said that working with Isis, and learning the history of the Brotherhood of the Source, was a powerful experience.

“The entire comic is this organic, magical thing,” Burton said. “Everything Isis' first-hnd, living, breathing experiences to the mind-bending layouts Faricio has created. It's non-linear, it plays with imagery and there's sincerity in every image. I think people will appreciate that we've created this charming little guide to what the Source Family was all about. I'm lucky and humbled to say that I was a part of it.”

The Source will retail for $3.99, and will be available at comic shops across the country. Readers can also pre-order copies through online retailers.

“This is a completely different kind of comic book for us,” said Darren G. Davis, founder and publisher of Bluewater Productions. “I think readers might be shocked at just how different. I'm happy, though, to bring the story of the Source to a generation of readers that may have little knowledge of what the '70s was all about.”

Bluewater Productions publishes a wide variety of comic books, from superhero fare such as the 10th Muse to biography comics. The company has received coverage in the mainstream press for comics featuring celebrities and politicians such as Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Michael Jackson, Robert Pattinson and, coming soon, Justin Bieber.

Olivia Newton-John Joins Female Force to Fight Breast Cancer

OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN COMIC BOOK BIOGRAPHY TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Actress and singer Olivia Newton-John survived her battle with breast cancer. Now she's devoted her life to helping other women beat this disease. This makes Newton-John the ideal subject of Bluewater Production's Female Force line of biography comics in which she is working with Bluewater on this venture.

Female Force: Olivia Newton-John will hit comic book shops and online retailers such as Amazon.com in October. The comic will not only trace the four-time Grammy award winner's rise to stardom, it will also generate funds for breast cancer research, with a portion of the book's proceeds going to the “Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre”.

The comic's October release is no coincidence; that month is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In honor of this, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the nation's leading breast-cancer awareness group, will provide a breast cancer resource guide with the comic.

“Breast cancer in the beginning that was hard to talk about. So it takes a while before you can put it into a category that you can discuss without becoming emotional” Olivia Newton John said to Bluewater about her coming out publicly about breast cancer.

Newton-John worked with Bluewater and writer Sandra Ruckdeschel on the comic's script. Ruckdeschel said that working on the story was an experience that she'll never forget.

“What I learned most about Olivia Newton-John after researching her life and writing about her is her love for humanity,” Ruckdeschel said. “She has such a huge heart and wants to share that with the rest of the world. Her fight against breast cancer displays that well: She survived her own battle with it and, rather than going on with her life as usual, she took it as a sign that she is meant to help others in their battle with the disease.”

Ruckdeschel's script traces Newton-John's career from her starring role alongside John Travolta in the hit musical film Grease to her ode to aerobics, Physical.

“Olivia Newton-John has had an amazing career,” said Darren Davis, founder and president of Bluewater Productions. “Her greatest victory, though, come in 1992, when she survived her battle with breast cancer. We are happy to work with her on this comic and to hopefully play at least a small role in the fight against breast cancer.”

Bluewater Productions publishes a wide range of comics, from superheroes to horror to children's tales to its much-discussed line of biography comics. Past biography comics from Bluewater have focused on the lives of Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, George Bush, Nancy Pelosi, Robert Pattinson and Michael Jackson.

Ruckdeschel says that Newton-John is a particularly fitting subject for the Female Force series.

“I idolized Olivia Newton-John before working on this project,” she said. “After learning even more about her I see her for the beautiful human being that she is. That is why she is a valiant subject for the Female Force series.”

Two Bluewater Titles to Become Radio Programs

Press release:

COLONIAL RADIO THEATRE TO PRODUCE “LOGAN'S RUN - LAST DAY” & “VINCENT PRICE PRESENTS” RADIO PROGRAMS

Colonial Radio Theater on the Air announced today that they have entered into an agreement with the comic book publishers Bluewater Productions to produce “Logan's Run - Last Day”. Based on the the comic books from the novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, and a screenplay by Paul J. Salamoff. CRT'S audio play will bring this incredible story to life with a full cast, full music score, and thousands of sound effects. “We're very excited to have this opportunity to do 'Logan's Run' the way it should have been done - as the author originally envisioned it,” said producer Mark Vander Berg.

Also slated is Bluewater's cult comic book anthology series “Vincent Price Presents”. One of classic Hollywood's most famous scary men, Vincent Price made a name for himself in classic mysteries and thrillers throughout the 1940's, 50's and 60's. Now Vincent Price Presents comes to Bluewater Productions as their 1st ongoing monthly series. The series will feature some of Prices's films as well as developing new frightening ones with his estate.

Explained producer Jerry Robbins: “Audio drama is very close to what the author intended. When reading a book, people have a certain image of the characters, the setting, the action. When it's made into a movie it's all shattered because it doesn't look like what's in their mind. The good thing about audio is that it looks just like you pictured it. Your vision is perfectly intact. This is the Theatre of the Mind - you supply the vision, we supply the sound.”

Celebrating it's 15th year, the award winning Colonial Radio Theatre on the Air's goal is to resurrect an old medium - making it modern and relevant - in a new and unique way for people to enjoy. With people's busy schedules keeping them on the road and limiting their time to read, “This is the future,” said Vander Berg, “audio drama is the next wave.”

The production of “Logan's Run” continues an increasingly strong science fiction addition into CRT's lineup of historical dramas, classic literature, fairy tales, and westerns with upcoming releases by both Ray Bradbury and Walter Koenig. Unlike video, when audio is digitally recorded now as CRT does it - with the best talent in the industry - it will never become dated by passing fashion and film techniques.

”Logan's Run - Last Day” depicts an ageist future society in which both the population and resources are maintained by requiring the death of everyone reaching a particular age. The story follows Logan, a man charged with tracking down and killing citizens who "run" from society's lethal demand - only to end up "running" himself.

“Logan's Run - Last Day” is expected to be released in early 2011 on Sirius/XM Radio, by download on the internet, and on Brilliance Audio CD available at retail outlets. “Vincent Price Presents” will be released in October 2010.

Bluewater Comics Brings Justin Bieber to "Fame"

JUSTIN BIEBER COMIC BOOK FROM BLUEWATER TAKES ON THE PHENOMENON

Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber has it all: A booming musical career, a dedicated fan base, a smile that makes young girls swoon and an innocence that makes parents smile.

Now Bieber is set to become a comic book hero when Bluewater Productions taps his life story for its popular Fame series of biographical comics.

Fame: Justin Bieber is a traditional biography comic book and will hit comic book shops and online retailers in October. This 32-page issue will retail for $3.99.

Writer Tara Broeckel Ooten said that while researching the comic she became convinced that Bieber has what it takes to craft a long musical career.

“I'm reminded of the stories my mom tells about when she was young and Beatelmania invaded the United States. For me it was New Kids on the Block,” Broeckel Ooten said. “Now today's teens and tweens go wild for Justin, and rightly so. He is a talented young musician. He has such an enormous global fan base. That and his talent will probably give him some real staying power in the industry.”

Claudio Avella is the artist on the book, and Broeckel Ooten said that he perfectly captured the feel of her story.

“He is an extraordinary talent,” Broeckel Ooten said of Avella. “His work has a real energy and life to it, a positive energy that works well for this book.”

Bieber certainly has a story worth telling. He's a self-made star who used technology and social networking to promote himself and his music. He also happens to make music that's undeniably infectious.

“I listened to Bieber's music for the first time while working on this project, and I have to admit, it can really stick with you,” Broeckel Ooten said. “I would hear it played somewhere, usually in Target, and I'd start singing along. I respect the musicianship that Bieber brings to his projects.”

Bieber is far from the first celebrity to appear in Bluewater's Fame series. He joins Lady Gaga and Twilight star Robert Pattinson, both of whose Fame issues sold out of their first runs, along with Tyler Lautner and soccer star David Beckham. Two new issues of Fame come out this month featuring Kristen Stewart and Taylor Swift.

Darren G. Davis, founder and president of Bluewater Productions, says that the biographical comics continually bring new readers to sequential storytelling. “This is a great medium for kids as well as adults. I had a hard time reading as a kid and comic books really improved my reading skills. One of the goals is trying to get kids away from the video games and reading more”

“With the Fame series, and our other biographical titles, we have succeeded in exposing comic books to readers who otherwise wouldn't pick up, say, an issue of Spider-Man,” Davis said. “I'm certain that our Justin Bieber comic will do the same; he certainly has a devoted group of fans whom I'm sure will be thrilled to see their favorite performer immortalized in comic form.”

In addition to its Fame series, Bluewater publishes Female Force, which looks at successful women, and Political Power, which traces the history of the world's most powerful politicians. Bluewater also publishes science-fiction, superhero, young adult and horror comics.

David Beckham Latest Subject of Bluewater Comics' "Fame" Series

SOCCER STAR DAVID BECKHAM THE SUBJECT OF LATEST BLUEWATER BIOGRAPHY COMIC BOOK

He may be the most famous soccer star in the world. He's married to a Spice Girl. He is, by any measure, an international sex symbol. And now soccer player David Beckham has become a comic book hero. This September, Beckham will star in Fame: David Beckham from comic book publisher Bluewater Productions.

Writer Pete Rogers and artist Pablo Martinena bring Beckham's amazing career to life, from his earliest days on the soccer field, when he dreamed of playing for Manchester United, to the challenges of his soccer days in the United States.

“Working on the Beckham book was quite different from any other comic I've worked on to date,” Rogers said. “Telling someone's real life story was quite a challenge, and I tried to find as many ways as possible to ensure that it was visually interesting and not just a case of 'he did this and then he did that'.”

Rogers wasn't content to simply read about Beckham and his life when researching his script. He spoke to a wide range of people about what Beckham means to them and the sport of soccer.

“One of the reasons I enjoyed working on the comic so much is that I got the chance to go down memory lane myself, not just to pivotal moments in David's life but also back to my own childhood, as some of the first comics I ever read were actually football comics,” Rogers said. “I used to pick up titles like Tiger (with Billy's Boots and Hotshot Hamish), Roy of the Rovers and Football Picture Story Monthly without fail. When I wasn't reading comics I was playing football, and I used to spend the school holidays training with local professional side 'AFC Bournemouth' at their Summer Soccer School. Getting the Beckham pages back from brilliant artist Pablo Martinena has taken me back to reading those comics on long hot journeys to Dean Court in the back of my Dad's car."

Fame: David Beckham is just the latest installment in Bluewater's popular series of biography comics tracing the lives of influential movie stars, sports heroes and musical icons. Past issues have featured Lady GaGa, Twilight star Robert Pattinson and pop sensation Taylor Swift.

Fame: David Beckham retails for $3.99 and can be found online at Amazon.com or in comic book shops across the country.

“David Beckham is the first sports star we've featured in a Bluewater comic,” said Darren Davis, president and founder of Bluewater Productions. “Of course, Beckham is much more than simply a sports star. He's also an international celebrity, as famous for his looks as he is for his soccer abilities, so he's a perfect fit for our Fame line.”

To order the book contact your local comic book store by going to www.comicshoplocator.com or go to Amazon.com.

Bluewater Productions to Publish New Horror Titles

BLUEWATER GETS DARK WITH MORE HORROR TITLES “NANNY & HANK” AND “INSANE JANE” SEQUEL

With its critically praised horror anthology series Vincent Price Presents, Bluewater Productions has already proven it knows horror. This summer, Bluewater will explore the edgier side of comics once again with the release of two of its darkest series yet, Nanny & Hank and its long-awaited sequel to Insane Jane.

Nanny & Hank focuses on the adventures of an elderly couple adjusting to their new lives as septuagenarian vampires. Even worse, the couple has to embark on a family vacation without alerting their children and grandchildren to the fact that they now need human blood to survive.

Insane Jane: Avenging Star picks up where the mentally unhinged heroine's 2008 sold out series left off. Jane is now confined to a hospital for the mentally ill. This doesn't stop her, though, from fighting the forces of evil while taking on a new, equally disturbed, sidekick. Or does it? With Insane Jane, it's not always easy to determine what's real and what's not.

Nanny & Hank features the talents of writer Mark L. Miller, writer of the company's Vincent Price anthology series, and artist Steve Babb. Insane Jane: Avenging Star was co- written by Bluewater founder and president Darren G. Davis and Zach Hunchar. The artwork was done by GMB Chomichuk.

Davis said that he is looking forward to the release of both comics. “Nanny & Hank has particular meaning for me because the main characters are based on my own grandparents, whose names really were Nanny & Hank,” Davis said. “And the original Insane Jane series was always a favorite of mine. Our readers really enjoyed it, too. It's an oddball tale. It's a bit different than most other comics you can find.”

Both comics will run in four parts and are listed in this month's Diamond Preview's magazine.

Each separate issue will retail for $3.99, and will be available at comic shops.

Bluewater Productions has quickly risen to become one of the top independent publishers of comic books and graphic novels. The company's biography comics have received the most press, but Bluewater also publishes a large line of fiction comics, focusing on everything from horror and children's adventures to superheroes, pirates and science fiction tales. Bluewater has worked with such visionaries as Ray Harryhausen, William Shatner and Roger Corman while producing its comics.

Lautner, who plays shape shifter Jacob Black in the Twilight films, will get his own comic from Bluewater this August. The 32-page Fame: Taylor Lautner will retail at comic shops, Amazon.com and other online sites for $3.99.

Lautner was a relatively unknown actor until he made his debut in the popular vampire-romance movies. Those days are over. Today, Lautner is as much a household name as are Stewart and Pattinson.

Lautner is also a committed actor. He studied martial arts and packed on 30 pounds of muscle for his role in the Twilight movies.

Of course, Lautner's smile and chiseled features haven't hurt his popularity, either, at least not among the movies' largely female audience.

Kimberly Sherman, who's penned the biography comics of both Pattinson and Stewart, also wrote the new Lautner comic. Warren Martineck, an artist for DC Comics' WildStorm studio, provided the interior art, while JuanMar Studios produced the comic's cover.

“The Twilight series has become a pop culture phenomenon,” said Darren Davis, president and founder of Bluewater Productions. “It's transformed previously unknown actors into superstars. It seems that the same thing is happening with Taylor Lautner. We at Bluewater are happy to bring Taylor's story to his fans, and hope that his comic helps introduce these readers to the joys of graphic storytelling.”

Bluewater Productions has carved out a niche for itself with its top-selling line of biography comics. The company's Fame line of biographies, which chronicles the life of influential celebrities, will debut this May with comics focusing on Pattinson and Lady GaGa. Both titles are available then at comic book stores on May26th as well as Amazon in which the comics have ranked up to #300 on the site.

Bluewater also publishes the Female Force and Political Power line of comics. These biographies have features such powers as Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela and Sarah Palin.
