MARVEL - From GamesRadar:  In "The Amazing Spider-Man #93," Spider-Man gets a mysterious new enemy, "Chasm."

EN MEMORIAM - From BleedingCool:  The British comic book artist, Garry Leach, has died at the age of 67, Saturday, March 26, 2022.  He is best known for reviving "Marvelman" with Alan Moore for "Warrior," the magazine published by Dez Skinn's Quality Communications.  With Dave Elliot, Leach started Atomeka Press, best known for the comic book anthology, "A1."

From 2000AD:  The website for "2000AD," the magazine for which Garry Leach made his debut, has put up a tribute page for him.

MARVEL STUDIOS - From BleedingCool:  According to James Gunn, his Disney+ special, "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special," will introduce "more than one great new MCU character."

MANGA - From BleedingCoolYen Press announces 9 new manga and prose titles due for September 2022.

MARVEL STUDIOS - From BleedingCool:   "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" star, Simu Liu, will not sign "Master of Kung-Fu" comic books.

DC CINEMA - From Variety:  Director Matt Reeves released a deleted scene from his superhero film, "The Batman," featuring Robert Pattinson’s Batman facing off against his classic nemesis, the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan.

BRITISH COMICS - From BleedingCool: Rebellion has announced "Judge Dredd by Mick McMahon Apex Edition."  It will collect the artist's Judge Dredd stories, published in their original size in a deluxe limited edition.

DC TV - From THR:  Actor Misha Collins ("Castiel" on The CW's "Supernatural") has been cast as "Harvey Dent" in The CW pilot for "Gotham Knights," based on the DC Comics characters.

IDW PUBLISHING - From GamesRadar:   IDW is collecting Berkeley Breathed's Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper comic stip, "Bloom County," in a new edition.  "Bloom County Library: Book One" is scheduled to arrive Fall 2022.

DC TV - From THRThe CW network (which is up for sale) has given an early renewal to seven of its scripted dramas, including "Flash" and "Superman & Lois."

MARVEL - From GamesRadar:  The site has a first look at "Legion of X #1," which is due from Marvel April 20th. The series is written by Si Spurrier and drawn by Jan Bazaldua.

DC TV - From Deadline:  Actors Fallon Smythe and Tyler DiChiara have joined The CW's pilot for the DC Comics-based series, "Gotham Knight."

MANGA - From BleedingCoolTitan Comics will launch its "Titan Manga" line with a new edition of "Afro Samurai Vol. 1" by Takashi Okazaki, on June 26th, 2022.

RUMORS /MARVEL STUDIOS - From ScreenGeek:  A hot rumor is that "Wolverine" will appear in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," but he will not be played by Hugh Jackman, the actor who portrayed the character in Fox's "X-Men" films.

DIGITAL COMICS - From GamesRadar:  "Zestworld," a new digital publishing platform, wants to help comic book writers and artists with creating and maintaining comic book intellectual property.

DC CINEMA - From BleedingCool:  Comedian George Lopez, Academy Award nominee Adriana Barraza, Elpidia Carrillo, and Damián Alcázar joined the cast of Warner Bros.' "Blue Beetle" film, its first starring a Latino character.

MARVEL - From GamesRadarSteve Rogers and Sam Wilson team up for "Captain America #0" and then movie on to their respective "Captain America" titles. "Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty" features Steve Rogers, and "Captain America: Symbol of Truth" returns Sam Wilson to the mantle of Captain America alongside Steve.

MANGA TO ANIME - From BleedingCool:  In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Cartoon Network's "Toonami," a new image from the anime adaptation of Junji Ito's legendary manga, "Uzumaki."

MARK MILLAR - From BleedingCoolMark Millar announces "The Magic Order 3" with Italian artist Gigi Cavenago, with the first issue due in July.

DC COMICS - From Variety:  Actor Paul Dano, who played the "Riddler" in the current hit, "The Batman," will write the comic book, "Riddler: Year One."

DC TV - From DCBlog:  Showrunner Robert Patino talks about his new streaming series, HBO Max's "DMZ," based on the Vertigo comic book series.

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  "The Batman" crosses the 500 million dollar mark in global box office.

SONY MARVEL U - From DeadlineSydney Sweeney of HBO's "Euphoria" is joining Sony Pictures Marvel Comics character film, "Madame Web."

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  The mega-hit film, "The Batman," is due to stream on HBO Max on Tuesday, April 19th ... maybe.

SONY MARVEL U - From Variety:  "Morbius" star Jared Leto has made the cover of "Variety" magazine.

MARVEL - From GamesRadar:  "X-Men: Hellfire Gala #1" is supposed to radically change the Marvel Universe. This comic book ships in June.

DC COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Marcio Takara will launch a new "Poison Ivy" comic book this year.

BOOM STUDIOS - From BleedingCool:  Former comic book artist, J. Scott Campbell, will provide a variant cover for the first issue of writer Dan Panosian and artist Giorgio Spalleta's "Alice Ever After" comic book from BOOM! Studios.

DC COMICS - From GamesRadar:  "Flashpoint Beyond #0" will arrive April 5th, but readers can read the first five pages in all DC Comics titles released on March 29th and April 5th.

MARVEL STUDIOS - From GamesRadarSamuel Jackson may have let it slip that Martin Freeman will reprise his role as CIA agent "Everett Ross" in the Disney+ series, "Secret Invasion."

SONY MARVEL U - From GamesRadarJared Leto is starring as Marvel character, "Morbius," and he'd like the vampire to cross over with Tom Holland's "Spider-Man."

MARVEL - From GamesRadarJessica Jones will return in "The Variants," a new "multiversal" series from Marvel Comics and written by Gail Simone and drawn by Phil Noto.

DARK HORSE TV - From Deadline:  Netflix has given "The Umbrella Academy" Season 3 a teaser, first photos, and a release date (Wed., June 22nd).

DC VIDEO - From DCBlog:  In a video interview, writer James Tynion IV talks about his horror comic book, "The Nice House on the Lake."

MANGA TO TV - From TheWrapNetflix rounds out the cast of its "One Piece" adaptation with six more cast members.

MARVEL - From GamesRadar:  Marvel Comics is reprinting Neil Gamain and Mark Buckingham's first six issue of "Miracleman" in "Miracleman: The Golden Age Vol. 1."

DC TV - From DeadlineHBO Max has ordered a miniseries, "The Penguin," based on the villain from "The Batman." Colin Farrell will reprise his role from the film as the character.

DC CINEMA - From WeGotThisCovered:  The DC Comics film, "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" has a new release date.  It is moving from Summer 2023 to Dec. 16, 2022 - the same day as "Avatar 2."

From WeGotThisCovered:  The DC Comics film, "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is moving its release date from Dec. 16, 2022 to March 17, 2023.

From WeGotThisCovered:  DC Comics films are changing release dates:  "DC League of Superpets" moves to July 29, 2022, and "Black Adam" moves to October 21, 2022.

SONY MARVEL U - From Deadline:  Actor Christopher Abbot ("Catch-22") has joined Sony Pictures' Marvel Comics character movie, "Kraven the Hunter," as the film's main villain, "The Foreigner."

DARK HORSE - From THR:  Filmmaker and sometime comic book writer, Kevin Smith, is launching a line of comic books via Dark Horse Comics.  Called "Secret Stash Press," some of the titles will feature characters from some of Smith's films.

THE BATMAN - THR:  "The Batman" opens with an estimated gross of $128.5 million to win the 3/4 to 3/6/2022 weekend box office.

MARVEL/TRAILERS - From GamesRadar:  The Zeb Wells-John Romita, Jr. relaunch, "The Amazing Spider-Man #1," has a trailer.

DARK HORSE - From BleedingCool:  Dark Horse Comics will publish the autobiography of "Watchmen" artist, Dave Gibbons, entitled "Dave Gibbons' Confabulation: An Anecdotal Autobiograhy."  Written by Gibbons and Tim Pilcher, the book will also contain Gibbons' side of his break-up with "Watchmen" co-creator Alan Moore.

BOOM STUDIOS - From PreviewsWorld:  The site interviews television writer-producer LaToya Morgan ("The Walking Dead") about her fantastic comic book miniseries, "Dark Blood."

COMICS - From BleedingCoolAblaze announces two new titles from the Pacific Rim.  There is the Korean Webtoon, "Heavenly Demon Reborn!" and the "Shonen Jump" title, "BLITZ."

COMICS - BleedingCoolAMC Networks has started its own comic book division, MC Networks Publishing.  Metallica guitarist, Kirk Hammett, will be writing one of the debut titles.

SONY MARVEL U - From Deadline:  Hot off her historic win at the 2022 SAG Awards, actress Ariana DeBose has joined the cast of Sony Picture's "Kraven the Hunter" film as the Marvel Comics' character, "Calypso," a voodoo priestess.

BRITISH COMICS - From BleedingCoolAlan Moore and Ian Gibson's "The Ballad of Halo Jones" is comprised of three books. Rebellion will collect them in an omnibus edition due in January 2023.

COMICS - From BleedingCoolLunar Distribution will also distribute titles from Vault Comics, beginning May 2022.  However, Vault will continue its relationship with Diamond Comic Distributors.

MANGA - From ComicBook:  "Fire Force" and "Soul Eater" creator, Atsushi Ohkubo, might not be retiring after all.

THE BATMAN:

From IndieWire:  "The Batman" star Robert Pattinson says that "The Batman" is a "sad movie" and that Bruce Wayne is a "weirdo."

From Variety:  Robert Pattinson guarantees comic book movie fans will know Matt Reeves’ “The Batman” is unlike any other Batman movie ever made as soon as they see the opening shot.

EN MEMORIAM - From MarkEvanier:   Pop culture historian and science fiction, fantasy, and mystery author, Ron Goulart, has died at the age of 89, Friday, January 14, 2022.  He was a prolific novelist and also a ghostwriter.  It is apparently common knowledge that he was the ghostwriter of actor Willaim Shatner's "TekWar" novels.  He also wrote a number of non-fiction books about comic books, including "The Great Comic Book Artists" and "Focus on Jack Cole," both published in 1986.

From MarkEvanier:  American cartoonist and comic book artist, Orlando Busino, has died at the age of 95, Tuesday, January 11, 2022.  He was best known for his long-running cartoon series, "Gus," which ran for years in "Boys' Life" magazine.  He also drew for Archie Comics, producing covers, illustrations and stories for the comic book series, "Tales Calculated to Drive You Bats."

NEWS:

DC COMICS - From DCBlog:   DC takes Batman’s war on crime worldwide in a new hardcover anthology, "Batman: The World." This 184-page book features Batman stories by top creative teams from across the globe, taking place in their home countries. Batman: The World launches worldwide on Tuesday, September 14, 2021—just in time for Batman Day 2021 (Saturday, September 18, 2021).

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:   While being interviewed on MSNBC, Oscar-winning actress turned director, Regina King, learned that she is on a list of directors being considered for Warner Bros. in-development "Superman" film.

DC TV - From THR:   Lee Toland Krieger, who directed the pilot for Superman and Lois, is set to direct and executive produce the first two episodes of "Green Lantern," HBO Max’s big-budget sci-fi police show based on the space-faring DC characters.

SONY MARVEL U - From Deadline:   The site is reporting that actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who played Quicksilver in Marvel's "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will play Spider-Man villain, Kraven the Hunter, in a standalone movie.

DC TV - From Deadline:   The cast of Netflix’s adaptation of Neil Gaiman's beloved comic book, The Sandman, continues to grow as Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park, Donna Preston and nine others round out the cast. Also slated to join are Jenna Coleman, Niamh Walsh, Joely Richardson, David Thewlis, Kyo Ra, Stephen Fry, Razane Jammal, Sandra James Young and Patton Oswalt.

MARK MILLAR - From MajorSpoilers:   This article says that the upcoming final "Jupiter's Legacy" comic book series, "Jupiter's Legacy: Requiem," will expand on the Netflix series.  It also contains 4 pages of art from the first issue and a look at some of the covers.

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will provide the voice of "Krypto the Superdog" in a new animated film, "DC League of Super-Pets."  Johnson's company, "Seven Bucks," is producing.

MEMORIAM - From BleedingCool:  Comic book writer and publisher, David Anthony Kraft, has died at the age of 68 or 69, Wednesday, May 19, 2021.  Kraft wrote numerous titles for Marvel Comics, including "The Defenders" and "Savage She-Hulk," to name a few.  He later wrote for DC Comics, including a run on "World's Finest."  In the 1980s, Kraft wrote several titles for Marvel Books.  He also published the long-running interview magazine, "David Anthony Kraft's Comics Interview," from 1983 to 1995.

MEMORIAM - From IGN:  Japanese manga creator, Kentaro Miura, died Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 54.  He was best known for his manga, "Berserk," one of the bestselling series of all time.  Berserk and its lead character, the lone mercenary, "Gut," had a huge impact on Japanese media.  Its impact can be seen in video games ("Final Fantasy") and on anime and manga.

MILLARWORLD - From ScreenRant:   Oscar-winning screenwriter, Emerald Fennell, has finished the latest draft of the screenplay for the film adaptation of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's comic book, "Nemesis."  This is according to Millar, himself.
 
From BI:  With Netflix's "Jupiter's Legacy" ruling the world of streaming, what's next for "Jupiter's Legacy" Mark Millar/Millarworld's superhero universe.

DC TV - From GamesRadar:   HBO Max and Cartoon Network have announced a new Superman animated television series, "My Adventures with Superman."  Jack Quaid of Amazon's "The Boys" will give voice to Superman/Clark Kent.

COMICS - From PW:   Alex Segura, previously co-president of Archie Comics, has been named senior v-p of sales and marketing at the Oni-Lion Forge Publishing Group, an independent comics publishing house based in Portland, Oregon.

DC TV - From Deadline:  Both HBO Max and Cartoon Network have ordered a new Batman animated TV series, "Batman: Caped Crusader."  A re-imagining of the Batman mythology, the series is from executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves (the director of the upcoming film, "The Batman").

BRITISH COMICS - From 2000AD:   From 2015, here is a podcast interview with artist Kev Walker, who is currently known for his run on Marvel's "Doctor Aphra" Star Wars comic book series.

SONY MARVEL U - From ScreenRant:  "Venom: Let There Be Carnage," the sequel to Sony's hit "Venom" film, will introduce the "Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane."  Some consider Ravencroft to be the equivalent of DC Comics' "Arkham Asylum."

COLLECTIBLES - From YahooNews:   You may or may not have heard that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought on some kind of Pokemon card collecting mania.  Retail chain, Target, has announced is suspending in-store sales of Pokémon and sports trading cards amid safety concerns as customers vie for the collectibles.

COMICS - From GamesRadar:   The 2015 cult film, "Turbo Kid," is getting a comic book prequel, "Turbo Kid: Apple's Lost Adventure."

MEMORIAM - From CBRJesse Hamm, a comic book writer and artist and essayist, has died.  His works include the graphic novel, "Good As Lily" (for DC/Minx), and issues of "Batman '66" and "Hawkeye" for Marvel Comics.  Many knew him for his "Tips from Jesse Hamm" Twitter account.

MARVEL - From CBR:  Marvel Comics has offered a first-look preview of its upcoming "Moon Knight #1" by Jed MacKay and Alessandro Cappuccio.

STAR WARS - From BleedingCool:  Alan Dean Foster is among the writers who will now be paid by Disney for the "Star Wars" novelizations they wrote.  Disney had stopped paying royalties since assuming the publication rights to these novels.

IMAGE COMICS - From THR:   Oscar-nominee Ryan Coogler will produce and Oscar-winner Regina King will direct a film adaptation of the Image Comics titles, "Bitter Root."

MARK MILLAR - From Deadline:   Mark Millar talks to "Deadline." One of the bits of news from the Q&A is that the series adaptation of Millar's comic book, "The Magic Order," is back on track with Netflix.

COMICS TO FILM - From THR:   Actress Hannah John-Kamen, who played Ava Starr/Ghost in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" has reportedly been cast as the lead in Millennium Film's "Red Sonja."  The character was created for Marvel Comics' "Conan the Barbarian" comic book and was an amalgamation of several Conan the Cimmerian characters created by the late Robert E. Howard, creator of Conan.

COMICS - From WeGotThisCovered:  Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of "The Walking Dead" comic book, is working on working on a film that will be a spin-off of "Dracula."  Kirkman says the film will be "an extremely violent comedy."

DC CINEMA - From CBR:   Actor Michael B. Jordan offers an update on the live-action "Static Shock" film that he is producing.  The film has a writer and a draft is coming together.

DC CINEMA - From THR:   Apparently, Warner Bros. Pictures is committed to hiring a black actor to play Superman and also to hiring a black director to helm the film.  The film is currently being written by an African-American, Ta-Nehisi Coates.

MARVEL - From BleedingCool:  The site has learned that Oscar-winning screenwriter and also comic book writer, John Ridley, will be the writer of a new "Black Panther" comic book series with Juann Cabal as the artist.  The new series will reportedly begin in August.

MARVEL - From BleedingCool:    The mutant character, "Fantomex" will headline the prose novel, "Triptych."  The novel is part of Marvel and Aconyte Books' "Xavier's Institute" line.

TITAN COMICS - From YouTube:  Titan has produced a preview video trailer for its new comic book series, "ExtraOrdinary," which is set in the world of author V.E. Schwab's "Vicious" and "Vengeful" novels.

ALAN MOORE - From TheGuardian: Two years after announcing that he had retired from comics, Alan Moore, the illustrious author of Watchmen and V for Vendetta, has signed a six-figure deal for a “groundbreaking” five-volume fantasy series as well as a “momentous” collection of short stories.

ARCHIE - From BleedingCool:  The site has a preview of the new trade paperback collection, "She's Josie."  The book reprints stories from various "Josie" comic books published by Archie Publications in the 1960s.  Eventually, the title would become known as "Josie and the Pussycats."

EN MEMORIAM - From BleedingCool:  The veteran American comic book artist, John Paul Leon, has died at the age of 49, Saturday, May 1, 2021.  Although Leon began his professional career with Dark Horse Comics, he first gained fame drawing the groundbreaking comic book series, "Static," for DC Comics' Milestone Comics imprint.  His most recent work was the four-issue miniseries, "Batman: Creature of the Night" (2018-20) with writer Kurt Busiek.

DC COMICS - From DCBlog:   Arriving July 20th is the first issue of a four-issue "Shazam" miniseries that spins out of "Teen Titans Academy."

DC COMICS - From DCBlog:  DC's new horror imprint, "DC Horror," will launch with a tie-in comic book to the upcoming film, "The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It."
