TRAILER: "The Boys" Season 3 - Redband Teaser

Amazon's hit superhero drama, "The Boys," is back for Season 3 on June 3, 2022.  The series is based on the comic book series of the same name by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson.  Now, there is a "redband" teaser that features a look at the new character, actor Jensen Ackles' "Soldier Boy":

TRAILER: Marvel Comics' "CAPTAIN CARTER" Five-Issue Miniseries

This week saw the arrival of Marvel Comics' "CAPTAIN CARTER #1."  The series sees Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum that turned Steve Rogers into Captain America.  Marvel produced a trailer for the series, which you can see below:

MARVEL - From BleedingCool:  Writer Alyssa Wong and artist Michael YG will debut a brand new hero in the Iron Fist costume Feb. 2022 from Marvel Comics. 

EUROCOMICS - From BleedingCool:  Hexagon Comics USA has announced its 2022 graphic novel release schedule, which begins with January's "Strangers#7: The Return of Himicron."

DC ANIMATION - From DCVideos:  Warner Bros. Entertainment has released a trailer for its animated feature, "Catwoman: Hunted," which arrives on Blu-ray/DVD Feb. 8th, 2022.

MARVEL - From CBR:  "Iron Fist" is a trending topic now that Marvel Comics has revealed that it will replace current Iron Fist, Danny Rand."

MILESTONE - From BleedingCool:   DC Comics is launching a new "Milestone Initiative" to serve "Black and underrepresented" comic book creators, to work with DC Comics, as part of their new talent development program Next Generation DC (NGDC).

COMICS - From Inverse:  Larry Hama is the writer who did much of the early development work on the "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" characters, and he wrote Marvel Comics' "G.I. Joe" comic book.  In an interview, Hama says he always wanted the Joe character, "Snake Eyes," to be Asian, which he is in the recent film, "Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins."

COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Legendary Comics, part of the movie producing giant, Legendary Entertainment, explains why it needs to run a Kickstarter campaign to publish its graphic novel adaptation of its film, "Dune."

MARVEL STUDIOS - From Geekfeed:  Once upon a time, "The Wasp" was meant to be the lead of "Marvel's The Avengers" (2012), the first Avengers film.

DC CINEMA - From WeGotThisCovered:  You may remember Warner Bros. announced an "Aquaman" spinoff movie focusing on the msyterious area known as "the Trench," but the project was later cancelled.  "Aquaman" director James Wan has revealed that the Trench movie was really a solo movie focusing on Aquaman nemesis, "Black Manta."

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  Sources say that Brendan Fraser has been cast in HBO Max's "Batgirl" film as the super-villain, "Firefly."

RUMORS - From TheIlluminerdi:  "Black Adam" producer, Hiram Garcia, is intrigued by DC Comics' character, "The Spectre," as a movie character.

IMAGE COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Image Comics has said that because of ongoing supply issues, for now and the foreseeable future, it will not offer second printings of its titles.

COMICS TO ANIME - From YouTube:  There is now a second trailer for Netflix's anime series, "Super Crooks," which is based on the comic book by Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu.  The entire 13-episode series will drop on Netflix Nov. 25th.

MARVEL STUDIOS - From GWW:   The hot rumor is that Marvel Studios is developing a "Hulk" solo film based on the Marvel Comics' event series, "World War Hulk."

COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Carolina Ortiz, an editor at Harper Children's Books, talks about what she is looking for in manuscripts for middle grade and young adult graphic novels.

DC TV - From Deadline:  Actress Ruby Rose was the star of The CW's "Batwoman" show for one season before abruptly leaving the series.  Now, she alleges toxic behavior on the set and launches scathing attacks on several executives involved in the series, including some from The CW and WBTV.

From Deadline:  WBTV, the studio behind The CW's "Batwoman," releases a statement that hits back at actress Ruby Rose and her account of her time on the series.

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  "Wonder Woman" actress Gal Gadot says that she was shocked when director Joss Whedon "threatened my career" during the notorious reshoots for Warner Bros.' film, "Justice League."

DIGITAL MANGA - From Hypebeast:  NBA stars and twin brothers, Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks) and Robin Lopez (Washington Wizards), have joined their older brother, Christopher Lopez, in creating a basketball manga, entitled "Transition Game."  It is drawn by manga artist, TATSUZ.  He was the chief assistant of the great Takehiko Inoue during the production of Inoue's legendary basketball manga, "Slam Dunk."

VIZ MEDIA - From CBR:   VIZ Media recently announced "The Liminal Zone," a collection of horror manga shorts from acclaimed author Junji Ito to be release in summer 2022.

MARVEL STUDIOS - From THR:   This article looks at the early reactions to Marvel Studios' "Eternals."  Many sampled in this article are very positive.

DC COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Colorist Gabe Eltaeb lets his anti-gay "Comicsgate" flag fly in rant against the new Superman (Jonathan Kent).  But people might want to think before they attack their employer, especially DC Comics.

From Deadline:   DC Films gives first look at concept art for the HBO Max "Batgirl" film.

DC CINEMA - From BleedingCool:  The Batman and Riddler character posters from the 2022 film, "The Batman," have been released.

DC COMICS - From BleedingCool:   Writer Garth Ennis and artist Gerry Brown launch "Peacemaker: Disturbing the Peace," featuring "Peacemaker," the breakout character from the film, "The Suicide Squad."

MARVEL - From PW:   Penguin Classics and Marvel Comics will collaborate on a new series, the "Penguin Classics Marvel Collection."  This initiative marks the first time that Penguin Classics has published comics.  The first three books in the series, "Black Panther," "Captain America," and "The Amazing Spider-Man," will be published on June 14 of next year, in both a paperback sporting Penguin's iconic black spine and a collectible hardcover edition. 

DC COMICS - From 13thDimension:   DC Comics is going to start reprinting the "Silver Age" Batman comic books, beginning with the earliest issues from that era.  Due in July 2022, "Batman: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 1" will reprint Batman #101-116 and Detective Comics #233-257.

FANTAGRAPHICS - From ForcesofGeek:  Cartoonist and comics creator, Jaime Hernandez, talks about his new book, "Queen of the Rings: Wrestling Drawings 1980-2020," in an interview with "Forces of Geek."

MARVEL - From Marvel:   The fan-favorite "Silver Surfer" comic book creative team of writer Ron Marz and artist Ron Lim return for the five-issue miniseries, "Silver Surfer: Rebirth."  The first issue goes on sale Jan. 19th, 2022.

DIAMOND - From BleedingCool:   Diamond Comic Distributors has just acquired ownership of the Atlanta-based Collectible Grading Authority (CGA), an industry leader in action figure and video game grading. 

MARVEL - From BleedingCool:  Marvel Comics has released details about writer Chris Claremont's story for "X-Men: Legends #12," which is due Feb. 2022.  It will be drawn by Scot Eaton, and will star Nightcrawler and Kitty Pryde.

DC COMICS - From Deadline:  In an upcoming issue of "Superman: Son of Kal-El," Superman will come out as bisexual.  The current Superman is young Jon Kent, the son of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

LOCAL COMIC SHOP DAY - From BleedingCool:   BOOM! Studios adds three comics to its LCSD 2021 (Nov. 24th) offerings.  They are "Magic: Master Of Metal #1" cardstock cover by Adam Gorham, a "House Of Slaughter #1" second printing cardstock cover by Jae Lee and June Chang, and "Regarding The Matter Of Oswald's Body #1" cardstock cover by Ryan Sook.

VIZ MEDIA/MARVEL - From BleedingCool:   VIZ Media has announced that "Yu-Gi-Oh!" creator, Kazuki Takahashi, is working on a new manga.  Entitled "Secret Reverse," it will feature Marvel characters Spider-Man and Iron Man and will be published in the Summer of 2022.

IMAGE COMICS - From BleedingCool:  Writer Brian K. Vaughn has revealed that his hit comic book, "Saga," will return with issue #55 on Jan. 26th, 2022.

IMAGE/SUBSTACK - From Substack:  Writer Rodney Barnes announces upcoming comics projects from both Image Comics and Substack.  The new comics include spinoffs of his hit vampire comic book, "Killadelphia" (Image Comics).

BOOKS - From TheGuardianThe Nobel Prize in Literature for the year 2021 has been awarded to the Tanzanian novelist, Abdulrazak Gurnah, for his "uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of the refugee in the gulf between cultures and continents."  "Paradise" (1994) and "Desertion" (2005) are among his most acclaimed novels.

COMICS - From BleedingCool:   The John Lee Hooker Estate and Z2 Comics announce the graphic novel, "John Lee Hooker: One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer."  It will document the life of the legendary blues musician, as written by Gabe Soria and Jarrett Williams and drawn by the legendary cartoonist, Kyle Baker.

SONY MARVEL U - From Deadline:  Sony’s "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" rang up a great $11.6M Thursday night from showtimes that began at 4PM yesterday at 3,500 theaters. That’s the second best during the pandemic after Disney/Marvel’s "Black Widow" which grossed $13.2M on Thursday night.

MARVEL - From BleedingCool:   Black Eyed Peas' performer, Taboo, and B. Earl are writing a new Marvel eight-part webtoon comic for the "Marvel Infinity" line, digital-first exclusive to Marvel Unlimited.

MARVEL COMICS - From BleedingCool:   On August 26th, 2021, Patrick S Ditko, a relative of the comic book writer-artist, Steve Ditko, and administrator of his estate, registered two notices of copyright termination against Marvel Entertainment for the first appearances of Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, two characters Ditko co-created, in comic books.

COMICS TO FILM - From Newsarama:  An actress is organizing a short film based on Terry Moore's comic book, "Strangers in Paradise," as a tryout for a feature film.

MANGA-TV - From Deadline:   Netflix has given the greenlight to a live-action TV series based on the worldwide smash hit manga, "One Piece."  The 10-episode series will be produced by Tomorrow Studios and the Shueisha, the publisher of "One Piece."

From THR:  POW! Entertainment, a company co-founded by the late Marvel Comics icon, Stan Lee, has asked a California federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought against them by Lee's daughter, JC Lee.

THE BATMAN - From YahooFinance:  Filming is underway on Matt Reeves' "The Batman."

From Newsarama:  The full cast for Matt Reeves' "The Batman" has been confirmed.

From Newsarama:  Jerry Craft's "New Kid" graphic novel has won the prestigious "John Newbery Medal" for the most outstanding contribution to children's literatur in 2020.  This is the first time a comic book has won this honor.

From BleedingCool:  "The Beat" has separated from publisher, Lion Forge, and is once again an independent new source.

MARVEL TV - From TheWrap:  The animated Marvel series, "Howard the Duck" and "Tigra & Dazzler," are not moving forward at Hulu.  The decision was apparently Marvel Studios'.

COMICS-TO-TV - From THR:  Amazon has picked up the rights to Rick Remender's comic book, "Fear Agent" (Image Comics).  Meanwhile, Remender and his production company, Giant Generator, has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television.

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  Actress Rosario Dawson has snagged the lead in HBO Max's pilot for "DMZ," the TV adaptation of Brian Wood's comic book that was published by DC Comics.  Oscar-nominee Ava Duvernay is directing the pilot.

From BleedingCool:  Comic book artist Dan Fraga will relaunch his 1990s comic book, "Black Flag," by launching a crowdfunding campaign in April 2020. Fraga is generally known for his association with Rob Liefeld.

DC CINEMA - From Deadline:  J.J. Abrams' "Bad Robot" production company is apparently developing film and TV ideas based on DC Comics' "Justice League Dark."

From CBSNewYork:  The Schomburg Center’s 8th annual Black Comic Book Festival is a black comic book festival that celebrates the art of science fiction, fantasy, and storytelling.  The event was held Fri., Jan 17th to Sat., Jan 18th, 2020.

MARVEL-HULU - From Newsarama:  Marvel reveals voice cast members for its animated series, "M.O.D.O.K." which will stream on Hulu.

From Newsarama:  IDW Publishing will publish a new comic book miniseries based on the late TV series, "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."  "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Too Long a Sacrifice" begins in April 2020.

From JerusalemPost:  The Israeli team of Guy Lenman and Nimrod Frydman won the 13th Japan International Manga Awards.

DC CINEMA - From CheatSheet:  Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman in Matt Reeves "The Batman," but she also provided Catwoman's voice in 2017's "The LEGO Batman Movie."

FILM TO COMICS - From THR:  Dark Horse Comics will adapt the late Dan O'Bannon's original screenplay for the film, "Alien" (1979) as a five-issue comic book miniseries.  They will use O'Bannon's original work, not the screenplay heavily rewritten by producers Walter Hill and David Giler.

COMICS TO TV - From Newsarama:  TNT has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming TV series, "Snowpiercer," which is based on the French comic, "The Escape," which was also adapted into an acclaimed 2013 from director Bong Joon-Ho.  "Snowpiercer" is scheduled to premiere May 31, 2020.

DC TV - From USAToday:  Daniel Lindelof has made it official that he will not work on a second seaxon of his critically acclaimed HBO series, "Watchmen."  And HBO seems unlikely to do a second season with him.

From 2000AD:  Rebellion Publishing has launched a line that will reprint important and popular Judge Dredd comics.  "Essential Judge Dredd" will launch September 2020.

MEMORIAM - From 2000AD:   Longtime British comic book letterer, Ellie deVille, died at the age of 72, Tuesday, December 24, 2019.  She was working up to the time of her death and was one of the longest serving and most prolific letterers for the venerable British comics magazine, "2000 AD."

DC CINEMA - From Newsarama:  FX's "Y: The Last Man" TV series has gotten a reboot with new showrunners.  The show has not, however, gone into production.

From Newsarama:  U.S. Rep. John Lewis (George's 5th Congressional District), the star of Top Shelf Productions' graphic novel trilogy, "March" (based on Lewis' life), has announced that he was Stage IV pancreatic cancer.

From CBR:  Kohei Horikoshi already has plans for the end of his smash hit manga, "My Hero Academia."

DC CINEMA - From ScreenRant:  Actor Michael B. Jordan says that if he played Superman (which he is rumored to be), the character would be authentic to comic book history.

From WCCFTech:  Valiant Comics is partnering with Blowfish Studios for the latter to produce games based on Valiant's characters.

COMICS-TO-FILM - From Newsarama:   Sony Pictures has moved the release date for its "Bloodshot" film (based on the Valiant Comics titles) from Feb. 21, 2020 to March 13, 2020.  The film stars Vin Diesel in the title role.

DC CINEMA - From Collider:  Director Patty Jenkins said that "Wonder Woman: 1984" is complete done - six months before its release.

FOX X-MEN MOVIES - From Newsarama:  The X-Men film, "The New Mutants," is one of the films Disney inherited when it bought 20th Century Fox.  It has had numerous release date changes, from both Fox and Disney.  The film's director, Josh Boone, hints that there will be a new trailer for the film in January 2020.
