Happy I Reads You Birthday

Three years ago, I realized that there was a need for something else, so I (re)planted the seeds of a media organization and hopefully it will grow into something substantial.  I realized what I had forgotten and should not have forgotten.  If you don't own it, no matter how hard you work for it, it still isn't yours.  You can be kicked out or fired at the whim of some paper pusher.  You can be betrayed based on lies.

So have your OWN thing.  I Reads You is my own thing, but I want to share it with readers, writers, and artists.  Hopefully, I will not fire and betray.  Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Wile E. Coyote & Road Runner

Sixty years ago, September 16, 1949, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner debuted in the Looney Tunes cartoon short, Fast & Furry-ous, written by Michael Maltese and directed by Chuck Jones. This cartoon can be found in the Looney Tunes - The Spotlight Collection Vol. 1 (Premiere Edition)
or Looney Tunes - Golden Collection

Happy Birthday, Mike Mignola

Mike Joseph Mignola is best known as the creator of Hellboy. Mignola's career began to bloom at Marvel thanks to runs on Alpha Flight, The Incredible Hulk, and a four-issue Rocket Raccoon miniseries published in 1985.

Mignola really began to gain attention because of his work on the Phantom Stranger (1987) and The World of Krypton four-issue miniseries (both for DC Comics). 1988 was a year of high profile projects for Mignola. He provided the pencil art for the four-issue prestige format miniseries, Cosmic Odyssey, and he drew the covers for the Batman: A Death in the Family storyline.

Mignola's career was already on the fast track when he debuted the character, Hellboy, in the four-issue miniseries, Hellboy: Seed of Destruction. Mignola collections include Hellboy Library Edition, Vol. 1: Seed of Destruction and Wake the Devil (v. 1) and B.P.R.D., Vol. 1: Hollow Earth & Other Stories (Hellboy)

Happy 49th Birthday, Mike.

Seth is also a highly-respected book designer, having worked on archival series such as Fantagraphics Books The Complete Peanuts and Drawn & Quarterly's The Complete Doug Wright.

His graphic novels include Wimbledon Green and George Sprott: (1894-1975)
