Newsarama: Writer/diectors Phil Lord and Chris Miller each won an Oscar for their work on the animated film, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." Now, they have signed a five-year overall deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPE) to develop live-action and animated shows including "a suite of TV series" based on Sony's Spider-verse movies.

Newsarama: There is a sequel to Hiroaki Samura's "Blade of the Immortal" manga. It is scheduled to debut May 25, 2019 issue of Kodansha's "Monthly Afternoon" magazine in Japan. The sequel is titled "Mugen no Junin - Bakumatsu no Sho" (which translates to English roughly as Blade of the Immortal: Bakumatsu Arc). Samura isn't writing or drawing the new project, but is reportedly involved in the development.

BleedingCool: Comic book historian and publisher (under his "Pure Imagination" imprint), archivist, and artist,
Greg Theakston, reportedly died, Monday, April 22, 2019. He was also known for a process that DC editor Dick Giordano named after him. This process was called "Theakstonization," which bleached published comic book pages of color, leaving just the black and white, to be recolored for republishing purposes. Before digital scanning and manipulation, this was apparently the best way to get clear copies of artwork for which no original art still existed. This process was used for many archival comic book projects.
